Folkeuniversitetet i Oslo, in partnership with the British Council and University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, offers the IELTS test in Oslo. The IELTS test is an English language test accepted by the vast majority of universtities and employers all over the world as a way of proving your language skills in English.

Important Information for candidates!
• Application forms, together with two small photographs, should reach Folkeuniversitetet in Oslo by the deadline stated. The photographs must be recent passport-sized photographs. You must not be wearing a hat, scarf or other item that may obscure a clear view of your face.
• Whilst we try our best to accept late applications, there is no refund unless cancellation is received more than 5 weeks before the test date. Please note that incomplete applications cannot be processed.
• Late applications will only be considered if there are places available on the test date. There will be a late entry fee of NOK 300,- for all entries accepted after the deadline stated above.
• Please note that only a passport is acceptable as identification. Make sure you send a photocopy of your passport with your application form. You must bring your passport to the test as ID will be checked during the test.
• You will receive acknowledgement of your application within 5 working days with a letter of confirmation and giro for payment of test fees. Please DO NOT SEND CASH in the post (even though this is stated on the application form).

Cancellation, date changes, absence:
• Cancellations and date changes are only accepted in writing, i.e. e-mail or letter.
• There is no refund if you cancel or change your preferred date less than 5 weeks before the test date. This also applies if you are absent from or do not turn up to the test.
• Where we agree to move your test date an administration fee of 250,- will be charged. The five-week rule will apply to your original test date, not the new test date.
• If cancellation, date change or absence is due to medical reasons, a statement from a registered medical practitioner is required. A full refund will be given less an administration fee of NOK 250.

Time Frame and Test Components:

08:00 - 08.30: Registration
09:00 - 12:30: Listening/ 30 minutes, reading/ 60 minutes, writing/ 60 minutes
13.00 - 17.15: Speaking/ 10-15 minutes
09.00 - 17.15: Thursday or Friday

(NOTE: For Saturday test days, all speaking tests are on the Friday before)
NB! Please note that the speaking test may be on the day of the written tests or the previous/following day. All travel and work arrangements will need to take this into account. Applications for specific speaking times will only be considered if due to medical or long distance travel needs. All such requests must be made in writing, with appropriate proof (i.e. doctors note or copy of flight ticket), no less than 2 weeks before the test date. Speaking times will be sent by post approximately one week before the test date. Once a speaking time is allocated we will not be in a position to change the time given.
